Evacuation

> Uncategorized > 9th February 2018

We evacuated a patient this morning from a South African game reserve. The patient’s leg was severely injured after being pinned between two cars. The patient had severe bleeding and fractured bones. Our on site medical response team was able to stabilize the patient in conjunction with our doctor on call. The incident management centre secured and facilitated the evacuation via helicopter. The helicopters swift response was only possible due to the employer having their Workers Compensation (WCA) Registration number with them allowing for prompt authorization from the Department of Labour. Always ensure that you have your WCA 99… Number on file and readily available in order to ensure prompt responses.
